A full night of fabulously scary and spooky happenings is planned for Halloween Night – Saturday 31st October. Throughout the village in various venues a Deadly Feast will take place, ghostly characters will be wining and dining. Peek into hidden spaces and see who is feasting and on what, drop into another to participate in the preparations….does your hair need beautifying? Does your face need doing? Involving children, teens and adults who have taken part in special workshops to prepare for it, the night will feature fabulous food, either real or imagined, being enjoyed by supernatural creatures or yearned for by those less fortunate… other-worldly musicians will entertain… or maybe all we can do it join the ‘wake’ and wait for the other side…
After the festivities on the street are over you will in the perfect place to join in the fun of the Halloween Ball. Hosted by the Schull & District Community Council this fundraising event is sure to be amazing, with fabulous prizes for costumes, masks and more, great music and some scary nibbles. Doors open at 9pm so there is plenty of time to enjoy Mick Begley who will be playing in the Bar. Tickets are €15
If all that is not quite what you are looking for, Schull Drama Group are staging the play – The Ladykillers – a wonderful dark comedy written by Graham Linehan based on the film of the same name from the 1955, starring Alec Guinness. It is a story of a hapless gang of band robbers and they’re accidental undoing by the adorable Mrs Wilberforce. Doors open at 7.45pm, curtain up 8.00pm. Tickets available on the door €10, concessions €5.
